Greetings from Guisborough Methodist Church (GMC).
GMC is located in the centre of a rural market town betwixt the North Yorkshire Moors and the coast. A warm welcome awaits you – from the youngest to the oldest – to join us for Sunday Worship and activities throughout the week.
On Sundays we meet each week at 10.45am for worship, including Sunday Club for our children and young people – with music being led by our worship group. There is often a semi traditional feel to this service along with more contemporary worship service at 9.30am on the first Sunday and a much more contemporary worship service (The Well) at 6.15pm on the last Sunday in the month.
Throughout the week we meet in small home-groups for Bible study, worship and support – whilst seeking to deepen our relationship with Jesus and each other.
The Church is open each morning for Good neighbours, serving those in need of a listening ear, or arranging shopping and lifts to the hospital etc. Our Monday afternoon fellowship group specifically serves our older generation through worship and invited speakers and a Friday drop in coffee morning provides a safe space for people to gather together and support each other.
Our young people enjoy their mid-week activities (in two separate age group sessions) where they have fun whilst learning morning about what it means to floor Jesus. Babies and toddlers with their parents / carers have their own meetings for play, support and conversation.
Many of our members are involved in the Bridge (an ecumenical charity) serving our whole community, including Foodstop for those in need together with opportunities for reaching out to people of all ages including young peoples' ministries, music and exercise for the elderly, support for parents with challenging issues, coffee mornings and soup n roll lunch – allowing the Love of Jesus to flow through us to anyone who comes along.
Throughout all of this our overall aim is to:
G – grow in God
M – move in the Spirit
C – centred on Christ
