Welcome to Rev'd Richard Sharples

Folks from across the circuit gathered at Saltburn Methodist Church to welcome our new Superintendent Richard Sharples along with his wife Biddy. The service was led by Rev'd Kevin Highfield and the District Chair Rev'd Richard Andrew. Rev'd Richard Andrew shared with us the urgency of mission, and asked churches and chapels across the circuit to reflect on this in their own settings as well was with regards to Richards appointment to the circuit. Rev'd Richard Sharples shared his recent experiences at Greenbelt festival and how it had made him excited and proud to be part of the Methodist Tradition, sharing what would be inside a Methodist stick of rock, including Justice seeking, inclusivity and evangelism. As a circuit we pray that Richard and Biddy feel at home in our circuit and that as a circuit we go forward whilst remembering our roots as Methodist.
